Shanghai Excursion Tours
The Yangtze Delta is compact and fast, so some of the best days out of Shanghai are in another city. Suzhou is 25 minutes away by high-speed rail and gives you the classical gardens and the canal lanes; Hangzhou is about an hour and gives you West Lake, a UNESCO cultural landscape since 2011, and the Longjing tea hills; Wuxi adds the lake scenery and the Grand Canal. Each is offered as a two or three-day programme with the rail tickets, guide and vehicle arranged on both ends.
Inter-city rail is booked in advance and quoted as full fare plus the booking fee. These programmes can also be run as extensions to a longer Shanghai stay.
