Xi'an's industrial base was built in the 1950s and 1960s, when a large part of China's aerospace, electronics and instrument-making capacity was deliberately placed inland. That base is still there, and it has been joined since 2000 by solar, battery and electric vehicle manufacturing. This four-day programme is arranged for companies and delegations assessing Xi'an as a sourcing or partnership destination.
The programme is built around three company visits with briefings from the host firms and time for questions, plus a session with the high-tech zone administration on what is available to incoming investors. The last day is left light for follow-up meetings or the Terracotta Army.
Morning — Departure & Muslim Quarter
Settle into your air-conditioned private car or van at 8:30 AM; your guide will share insights into Xi'an's urban layout as you head downtown. At 9:00 AM, arrive at the Muslim Quarter, where your guide leads a leisurely guided walk.
Late Morning — Beiyuanmen Street & Great Mosque
Stroll Beiyuanmen Street, a food alley famous for its Islamic food, then visit the Great Mosque of Xi'an. One of the largest and oldest mosques in China, it was founded in the Tang dynasty and rebuilt many times since. Enter through its courtyards, admire the moon-gate pavilion, and learn about the Islamic festivals celebrated here.
Late Morning — Ancient City Wall
At 10:00 AM, drive five minutes to the Ancient City Wall and enter at the South Gate. Your guide provides a 20-minute orientation covering its history and dimensions, 12 meters high and 18 meters wide, and its cultural significance; you may opt for a 30-minute electric cart ride along the top. From 10:45 AM, descend to the wall's pedestrian path and walk along the South Gate section, gazing across the moat at Xi'an's modern skyline, then return to your hotel by 12:15 PM.
Evening — Flexible Evening / at your leisure
The evening is yours to enjoy at your leisure.
Meals
Breakfast at the hotel; other meals at your leisure.
Morning — Xi'an High-Tech Zone
Visit Xi'an High-Tech Zone for an executive briefing on China's technology ecosystem: semiconductors, artificial intelligence, software and the specific advantages an inland hub can offer.
Afternoon — BYD New Energy Vehicle Xi'an Base
Tour the BYD new energy vehicle production base in Xi'an: automated body lines, battery pack assembly and the vertical integration that has made the company the largest EV maker in the world by volume.
Evening — Dinner with Xi'an Tech Entrepreneurs
Business dinner with Xi'an technology entrepreneurs, with time to explore joint venture and supply chain questions directly.
Meals
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included.
Morning — an aerospace supplier in the aircraft cluster
A large part of China's aviation and aerospace supply chain was placed inland in the 1950s and 1960s, and much of it is still in and around Xi'an: airframe structures, engine components, avionics and the tooling that goes with them. The visit is to a supplier rather than to a final assembly line, which is the more useful introduction for a delegation assessing sourcing. The host firm gives a briefing on its part in the chain, its qualification requirements and its lead times, followed by a walk through the areas it can open and a question session. What most groups want to know - tolerances, certification, how a foreign customer would be handled - is asked here.
Afternoon — an electronics or semiconductor manufacturer
The second visit is to a manufacturer in electronics, power devices or semiconductor packaging, arranged with access to the production floor where the host firm permits it. The briefing covers the product line, the equipment base, where the components and materials come from, and how quality control is organised. For a group looking at cost, the instructive part is usually the degree of automation and localisation: what is made in-house, what is bought in from elsewhere in China, and what still comes from outside.
Evening — a working dinner with local suppliers
The day ends with a dinner to which suppliers from both visits and their procurement staff are invited, which is the point at which questions that were not appropriate in a formal briefing usually get asked. Your interpreter is present throughout. Requests for specific companies are accommodated where the firm will receive a delegation, and direct contacts are exchanged by the firms themselves.
Meals
Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Morning — Follow-ups, or the Terracotta Army
Nothing is scheduled that cannot be moved. Groups that have outstanding questions use the morning for return meetings or a second look at a plant; groups that are finished with business use it for the Terracotta Army Museum, where more than eight thousand life-sized figures were buried to guard the tomb of the First Emperor and were rediscovered in 1974. The two can be combined if the schedule is tight, and your guide will hold the timings to whatever the afternoon flight or train requires.
Afternoon — Departure
Transfer by private vehicle to Xi'an Xianyang International Airport for the flight home, or to Xi'an North Railway Station for the high-speed service to Beijing, Chengdu, Zhengzhou or Luoyang. Your guide assists with luggage and check-in. Any follow-up documentation agreed during the programme is handed over before departure.

Please read these notes before booking. Company visits require a visitor list with passport details two weeks in advance, and some hosts request that no photography be taken on site. Access to certain facilities - particularly in aerospace - may be limited or restricted at short notice; we will always offer an alternative if a visit falls through. The programme can be tailored to a specific sector on request.
