Guangzhou Classic Day Tours
A full day in Guangzhou covers one of the city's own axes. The Yuexiu route takes in Yuexiu Park, the mausoleum of the Nanyue king and the Chen Clan Academy, a late-Qing ancestral hall that is now a folk art museum; the Shamian route walks the island's colonial-era banks and churches and adds a Cantonese opera session; and the modern axis runs the Guangdong Museum, Haixinsha and the Canton Tower, the tallest structure in the city.
Tours are private with an English-speaking guide and a private vehicle. Each can be shortened to a half day or extended into two days, and the Canton Tower and museum tickets are booked in advance.
