The itinerary that treats children as travellers, not luggage. Every day pairs one big site with one thing to do: the warriors with a simulated dig where the kids excavate, record and reconstruct like the professionals next door; the wall with bicycles; the pagoda with the fountain show that follows the music.
Two craft sessions anchor the middle of the week — shadow puppetry from Huaxian county, the tradition UNESCO lists as intangible heritage, and hanfu portraits in the Tang pleasure gardens. The last full day leaves the city for Nansuo Village, where celebrated farmer artists teach the bold colours of Guanzhong folk painting.
Family rooms, slower mornings and a guide who knows which restaurants satisfy both picky and adventurous eaters. The welcome kit and the closing gift bookend the week.
Morning — Arrival and Welcome
Your guide meets the family at Xi'an Xianyang International Airport and transfers you to the hotel. Younger travellers receive a welcome kit and a short orientation in which your guide sketches the week ahead.
Afternoon — Rest and Settle In
Check into the family room and rest. The afternoon is deliberately unhurried so everyone recovers from the flight.
Evening — The Muslim Quarter
Dinner in the Muslim Quarter, where narrow lanes have fed travellers since the Tang dynasty. Let the smell of hand-pulled lamian, roujiamo and yangrou paomo lead the way through this open-air feast.
Meals
Breakfast, Dinner included.
Morning — The Eighth Wonder of the World
Stand before the Terracotta Warriors. In Pit 1 more than six thousand life-sized clay soldiers stand in silent formation, their bronze weapons still gleaming after two thousand years. Your guide keeps the story at a child's eye level: who made them, why, and how they were found by farmers digging a well in 1974.
Afternoon — Junior Archaeologist
At the professional archaeology simulation centre the children become junior archaeologists. Using real tools they excavate 'relics' from a mock excavation square, learn how fragments are recorded and restored, and mould a small terracotta warrior to take home.
Evening — At Leisure
Back at the hotel, a relaxing evening — a swim in the pool, an early dinner, and an early night before tomorrow's wall ride.
Meals
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included.
Morning — The Family Cycling Championship
The family cycling championship begins on the ancient city wall. Pedal together along the world's most complete surviving city fortification, passing gates and watchtowers with views of modern Xi'an on one side and the old grid on the other.
Afternoon — Huaxian Shadow Puppetry
Enter the world of Huaxian shadow puppetry, recognised intangible cultural heritage. Children carve their own leather puppet under a master's guidance and learn how to bring it to life behind the screen.
Evening — Hanfu at Tang Paradise
Change into Tang costume and walk through the illuminated Tang Dynasty Paradise, where thousands of lanterns light the pavilions — the evening every camera in the family will remember.
Meals
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included.
Morning — Xi'an Museum and the Small Wild Goose Pagoda
Explore the Xi'an Museum, where 110,000 objects trace thirteen dynasties, then wander the quiet grounds of the Small Wild Goose Pagoda — a Tang masterpiece that has survived three major earthquakes.
Afternoon — The Giant Wild Goose Pagoda Fountain
Visit the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda plaza to see Asia's largest musical fountain. The pagoda itself was built where Xuanzang translated the Buddhist scriptures he brought from India and stands as a monument to that exchange.
Evening — Free Family Time
Free time: explore around the hotel, walk the length of the city moat, or simply rest after two full days.
Meals
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included.
Morning — Nansuo Village & Farmer Painter Zhang Qingyi
Start your day with a visit to Nansuo Village in Huxian County, where you meet the renowned farmer painter Zhang Qingyi. Born in 1954, Zhang has been passionate about painting since childhood and is now a leading figure in the Huxian peasant painting movement. At his studio, experience the region's agrarian culture through artworks that depict rural life, traditional festivals, and local customs, and learn about the history and techniques of this unique art form. You can also take part in traditional activities such as dragon dancing, an integral part of local celebrations and festivals.
Afternoon — Huxian Peasant Painting Museum
In the afternoon, head to the Huxian Peasant Painting Museum, a comprehensive museum dedicated to the preservation and promotion of peasant painting. Located in Huxian County, it houses a vast collection that charts the evolution of this art form and offers insight into the lives, beliefs, and artistic expressions of local farmers. Workshops and interactive sessions allow you to try your hand at peasant painting under the guidance of experienced artists.
Evening — Flexible Evening / at your leisure
The evening is yours to enjoy at your leisure.
