Morning — Arrival and Transfer
Your guide and driver greet you at Xi'an Xianyang International Airport and transfer you by private vehicle to your hotel. The morning is kept light so you can recover from the overnight flight.

The Shaanxi History Museum holds more than 370,000 objects from the Palaeolithic to the Qing, including Tang gold and silver vessels and Zhou bronze. It is the single best introduction to the province in which you are doing business.

A walk on the city wall at dusk, with free time afterwards for follow-up meetings.

Morning — The High-Speed Rail North
Transfer to Xi'an North and board the train for Pingyao, about two and a half hours. The Guanzhong plain gives way to the loess plateau as the line climbs into Shanxi.

Afternoon — The Walled City
Arrive and enter Pingyao Old Town, where the entire 2.7-square-kilometre Ming-Qing street grid survives behind its walls — shopfronts, courtyard houses and the drum tower exactly as the Jin merchants left them. Check into a courtyard inn.

Evening — First Evening in the Old City
An evening walk on Mingqing Street under the lanterns. Pingyao fed and financed the Qing empire's trade in tea, dye and grain; tomorrow you meet the bank that did it.

Drive from Pingyao to Taiyuan, about an hour and a half, then visit a photovoltaic or new-energy enterprise. Shanxi is rebuilding itself off coal; the briefing covers capacity, grid integration and where the incentives actually land.

Afternoon — Smart Heavy Industry
An afternoon inside a heavy-industry plant running smart production lines — robotics, digital twins, predictive maintenance. The contrast between the courtyard inns of yesterday morning and this floor is the Shanxi story in one day.

Evening — Dinner with Taiyuan Entrepreneurs
A business dinner with Taiyuan entrepreneurs — the evening's theme is energy transition finance, and what a Singapore partner can usefully bring to it.

Morning — The Road North and the Transition Zone
Transfer from Taiyuan to Datong, roughly three hours, arriving into the city that has made itself a national demonstration zone for energy transition — the coal capital that now runs on wind, solar and hydrogen pilot projects. A briefing frames the afternoon.

Afternoon — The Yungang Grottoes
Spend the afternoon at Yungang, the UNESCO cliff of sandstone caves the Northern Wei court cut when it ruled from this city in the fifth century. Cave 20's open-air colossus is the photograph; the courtly detail of caves 5 and 6 is the memory.

Evening — Farewell Dinner in Datong
A farewell dinner of Datong knife-cut noodles — daoxiaomian — and a last walk on the restored Ming city wall if the evening is clear.

Morning — The Rail South
Board the high-speed train from Datong back to Xi'an, about six hours — the longest single leg of the journey, and the best window on the plateau: wind farms, loess cuts, river gorges, then the plain again.

Afternoon — Arrival in Xi'an
Arrive at Xi'an North and transfer to the airport, with a light meal arranged on the way if timing requires.

Evening — Departure
Check in for the evening flight home, closing a loop that ran from the Qin capital to the Northern Wei, and back.
