Morning/Afternoon (Approx. 6-8 Hours):
Airport Pickup & Transfer to Tiananmen Square: Upon your arrival at Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK), your guide and driver will meet you for a direct transfer to Tiananmen Square. This journey takes approximately 45-60 minutes depending on traffic. Your guide will provide an introduction to Beijing's layout and history during the drive.
Explore Tiananmen Square: Spend about 90 minutes exploring Tiananmen Square, the symbolic center of the People's Republic of China. Stretching 880 meters from north to south and 500 meters from east to west, it can hold up to one million people. You will see monumental structures such as the Monument to the People's Heroes and the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong. The square's vast expanse and historical significance, having been the site of numerous pivotal events in 20th-century Chinese history, offer a profound first impression of the nation's capital.
View the Forbidden City's Meridian Gate: From the northern edge of Tiananmen Square, you will have a commanding view of the Meridian Gate (Wumen), the grand southern entrance to the Forbidden City. Your guide will explain the layout of the former imperial palace complex, which served as the home to 24 Ming and Qing dynasty emperors. The gate's five arches and imposing architecture symbolize the emperor's supreme authority, marking the transition from the public realm to the sacred center of imperial power.
Transfer Back to Airport: After the tour, enjoy a comfortable transfer back to PEK for your connecting flight, with an estimated travel time of 45-60 minutes.
